EP.5: Saro McKenna (Alien Worlds) - Building a Decentralized Metaverse
Welcome back, this is episode 5 of season 2 in which we interviewed Saro McKenna, the CEO of Dacoco, creators of AlienWorlds - an NFT Metaverse, currently with 7 million users, where among other things users can play with unique digital items, stake Trilium (an ERC-20 token) to planets to vote in upcoming Planetary elections, as well as to increase the Planet’s reward pool. The planets have DAOs where players participate in weekly elections for council candidates, submit proposals on how to distribute the planetary treasury or run for planetary council.
The conversation covered not only AlienWorlds’ promise but also a wider perspective on the crypto industry, web3 gaming, DAOs, and the challenges and opportunities of building a company in this new frontier.
